Adelheid Ottesen paints with acrylics and works with printmaking, like
woodcuts, linocuts and serigraphy.
She also combines these various art techniques. Her abstract treatment of
colors and shapes enables the dissolution or separation of entities such as
time, place and action. Her compositions are characterized by flatness versus
spatial depth, and a simplification of the visible world. She has a penchant for
frames, patterns, still lifes, landscapes and everyday motifs.
Adelheid Ottesen is a Norwegian artist, who settled in Falun, Sweden, in 2021.
She graduated from Bergen Kunsthøgskole in 1991. She has lived and worked
in Bergen for many years as a graphic designer and as a visual artist on the
side. Since 2018, she has worked with visual arts full-time.
